Goat Baa.. Baa..

When Daddy phoned Alexandria yesterday, she ask Daddy to sing a popular Indonesian Sunday School song. We are very happy to hear that Anak Anugerah Alexandria likes Christian song, we hope that good songs can help her to develop better as a kid that love God. The song is titled Kambing Embek-embek, which can be translated to Goat Baa.. Baa.. as the song is containing some onomatopoeia in Bahasa Indonesia, that is: embek, meong, and teot teblung.

onomatopoeialist.com give definitions of onomatopoeia as:

onomatopoeia: 1. the naming of a thing or action by a vocal imitation of the sound associated with it (as buzz, hiss) 2. the use of words whose sound suggests the sense

writtensound.com simply give definition of baa as sheep vocalization. Generally we notice that baa is also vocalization of goat. But, as kambing are mostly translated to goat or ram (Indonesian and Javanese people use sheep for domba or wedhus gibas), this blog are titled “Goat Baa.. Baa..”. Meong is cat vocalization, and teot teblung is frog vocalization.

We can see the clip of the song via youtube:
